Here's where it all started.

I can’t tell you the exact age I caught the radio bug. I just know it happened before I was old enough to understand what the bad FCC words even were.

Radio was always around me. My mom has worked in the industry for more than 40 years, longer than I’ve been alive, and some of my favorite childhood memories live inside radio stations. She worked nights, and instead of a babysitter, my sister and I went to work with her. We’d show up in pajamas, sit quietly outside the studio, watch her juggle tape decks and cassettes through the glass, and eventually fall asleep to the glow of the ON AIR sign. I remember thinking: that’s the coolest job in the world. Maybe one day I could do that, too.

Turns out, I could… and I did.
I officially started in radio at 16 years old, landing my first job at my hometown station, KQDJ FM in Jamestown, North Dakota, in August 2007. I cut my teeth as a board operator for local sports on KQDJ AM, then quickly moved on-air across multiple formats (Country, Top 40, and Rock) while juggling college classes and behind-the-scenes responsibilities. Early on, I learned how to run a board, connect with real people, hit posts, fix mistakes fast, and do whatever needed to be done to keep things moving.

In 2011, I earned my Associate’s Degree in Web Page Development & Design from Bismarck State College, adding digital strategy and content creation to my on-air foundation — skills that would become just as central to my career as the microphone itself.

That same year, I took a leap and moved to Nashville with a truck full of clothes, a stack of resumes, and zero guarantees. After more than a year of knocking on doors, handing out airchecks, and learning patience the hard way, I finally landed back on the airwaves in early 2013 at Nashville’s iconic rock station, 102.9 The Buzz. What started as one overnight shift a week eventually turned into nights, then full-time, then afternoons, along with voiceover work, imaging, and expanded responsibilities behind the scenes.

Over time, my role grew far beyond hosting a show. I stepped into digital leadership, managing websites, social media strategy, graphics, branded campaigns, and multi-platform content. I took on APD-level duties, supporting programming strategy, promotions, and brand execution while helping shape the sound and voice of the station across platforms.
Alongside radio, I’ve built a career as a content creator with a deep understanding of the music industry, from artist relations and interviews to marketing rollouts, tour promotion, and audience engagement. I’ve worked directly with bands, managers, labels, and venues, translating creativity into connection and content into community. Whether it’s producing audio, developing social campaigns, writing copy, hosting a podcast, or building digital strategy from the ground up, I thrive at the intersection of media, music, and storytelling.

Now, more than 18 years into this career, my path has been shaped by adaptability, curiosity, and a genuine passion for both the art and the business of music. On-air, online, behind the scenes, or wherever the next chapter leads — I’m proud of where I’ve been, energized by what I’ve built, and always open to what’s next.

This journey started with a kid watching her mom through a studio window. It’s grown into a career built on voice, creativity, strategy, leadership, and connection… and I’m just getting started.
Cheers!
